年初三是拜年日！

hey.. on friday.. i went to sch for 4 hrs lect! 9-1pm.. in lect, we r all excitedly chatting away.. (stil in new yr mood mah..) seated btw wan ling n liu ping.. i was rather attentive i would say.. hee~~ busy trying to psycho 3 of e PRCs in my cls, liu ping, linchun n guang peng to go wlds wif us.. for a series of 拜年!!

so in e end, gt me, jian yao, camy, chee hsiang, pei rong, zhensiong, joreen, kelvin, liu ping, linchun, guang peng! we first went jian yao's hall.. den camy's hse for lunch, video cum photo viewing and black jack session.. den my hse for another round of eating n chatting session... den to zhen siong's hse for mahjong n KTV session! hee.. stayed til 9 plus.. everyone went hm.. while i acc JY, kelvin and camy for a meal at CWP.. ZS was rather sad that we left coz i guess he expected some of us to stay over...

so.. e m0re we tink, e more guilty we felt.. and so... we decided to go back lor.. ok.. i cut e long story short coz we actuly changed our minds A few times.. to go or not to go.. haha. so in e end, JY pon his hall meeting, kelvin went home to bathe n get his car.. and we oso went back to bathe n meet again at 11.15pm at CWP.. and after waiting n "ho-laning".. arrived at 12Am ba,,,

ok.. din realli get to play coz gt 4 "ka"s already.. so basically. vcd-watching n stoning n dozing off session.. ok.. gt play "da lao er too.. camy went to0 bed at 1 plus.. i stone til 3am... den joined her to sleep.. den.. woke up at 6am plus to chat wif camy.. doze off at 7 plus.. den left at 9am..ha.. so basically.. i slept most of e time lah..!!

新春快乐！！！

hey hey.. if you r sharp enuff.. you would have realised tat instead of the usual 新年快乐, i have written 新春快乐! yeah.. tat's sth i learn fm my PRC clsmates.. while talking to them on new yr's eve.. camy asked LP for some 新年贺词.. and tat's wat he had said: “在国内，我们常祝“身体健康”，“万事如意” 等等。但，这里， 应该是“恭喜发财”比较多吧！”

hmmm, we all laughed.. and i guess at e same time.. i did reflect a bit abt singaporeans.. yeah money-faced!! but no choice ba..tat's e culture here..

anyway. tis yr is my first time spending lunar chinese new yr in Sinagpore. coz.. everyyr i will definitely go malaysia and stay at my paternal side.. tis yr, my maternal grandma, since e fall last yr.. can't go malaysia and my mum had to stay in singapore.. so i also stayed to accompany them.. onli my sis, bro and dad went back..

ok.. staying in singapore is reali super boring!! haha..
malaysia. we have fire crackers.. alot of relatives, mahjong, black jack, stars-gazing at nites.. chats.. laughters..
in singapore, sleep, watch tv and eat..only..ok, stil gt mahjong.haha.. we play among ourselves..
yeah.. coz of my grandma's death, my parents can't give hong-baos tis yr.. i dun reali dare to invite friends to come.. coz paiseh.. nvr give hong-baos like dat.. oso dun dare go to other's hse.. coz.. some might be superstitious.. anyway..boring is e word to describe my new yr!

okok, looing at e bright side.. it is a v relaxing one.. i reali did nothing excapt.. eat, watch tv and sleep and i reali sleep ALOT.. afternoon naps fm 2 plus to 6 plus.. haha.. reali like a PIG lor..

Knowing my PRC classmates better...

due to a module.. which is entirely labwork and pre-grouped.. and i am in the same gp as a PRC scholar.. i get to interact much more with PRC students..

in my cls, there are a total of 4 of them... all guys.. and v studious..
hmmmm,althou chem eng has fixed cls for 4 yrs...
we dun realli get to interact in lectures n tut..
tat explains why we r stil nt close to them

i recall in sem 1.. when we have tis guy fm philippines born in 1986 as our cls mate..
i guess he reali look forward to uni life coz he actuly went to ivle to search for all our faces n printed them, placed it on e first page of his file..
i was v impressed.. and of coz a bit shocked initially..
i could tell he realli want to make frenz with us.. singaporean students..
oh well, as u might have guessed.. i tink Singaporean students aren't tat "friendly".. and he did not reali mingle into "US".. tat's rather sad rite?
the same applies to PRC scholars i guess...
ok.. even for me.. i onli stick to my clique most of the time.. ya lor...
stil rem in sem 1, me n zx actuly make an effort to be more friendly.. say more "hi's.. make more small talks.. with the scholars.. buti guess as e work pick up, or rather as we pon more lect n tut.. we dun see them often and.. ya.. so stil nt close..

BUT.. through this..
i do see another opportunity to interact with them..
i would now describe them as v
1. generous - my gp mate, GP actuly wanted to treat us lunch coz he gt his tuition pay.. of coz i rejected la. he earn money so xin ku lei..
2. cultural - GP has a lot of 古典音乐 and 相声 stuff in lis laptop lor.. and he is always v knowledgable.. he always ask me.. "呃，你知道XXXX是什么意思吗？你有听过XXXX吗？"
3. humorous.. yeah.. thou their humor a bit diff.. it's more cultural one.. like.."吃饱了事没饭做"
4. helpful.. will help explain hw lor..
5. well-informed.."你平时有看新闻的吗？".. oops.. i reali feel i 无地自容 lor..
6. self-motivated.. due to lang barrier.. they reali have to read up lor.. (actuly we also need lah).. but they take even more time to read english i guess..

so all in all..
v glad to have opportunity to work with them and they r indeed a bunch of v nice ppl.. haha..
oh.. i sort of feel that they r so nice. they r easily bullied by us!..
oops. with GP's consent,.. xingyi n i actuly explored his laptop's photo folder,.. and managed to DIG out many many secrets abt him.. haha. and another cls mates one... hee hee
