i LOVE WONDERKIDS

fri was e last session.. and we had our family outing today...
as kl said.. it indeed.. in certain espects.. ended with a BIG BANG..
many volunteers came.. WC n HX dropped by too.. nt to men tion LF n JJ
yup.. despite some imprefections here n there.. i would say it was a great ending after all...

i especially like KL's msg to WK man.. quoting parts of it here..

" Dear Yishuners,

A very strong showing by volunteers despite all your busy schedules..
At least we end this season with a BANG!
Thank you all you new and old volunteers,
A great pleasure to work with all of ya and Chee Wei especially...
Our days are numbered.. Haha...

This batch of wonderkids is the most challenging i have faced so far,
So i think all in all we did well lah..
Though there are certain aspects where we can improve upon,
Skills like engaging the kids more into our programme,
But then again, we always got the next batch of kids to hone our handling and managing abilities..
So it's a constant learning curve,
Dun feel let down by some of these kids' responses even today!

XX was holding this conversation with me today,
So touched that he's actually willing to open up to volunteers now..
Credit goes to Xiqian and whoever was handling him..
It is instances like this that makes volunteering worthwhile..

I must admit i was devoid of ideas come the end of this season,
Glad to see it through...

"yup yup.. i guess thou this session was v messy.. n chaotic.. i too was v impressed by e kids performance lah..
8 wks is reali too short to do a gd job. but i guess we all did our best..
i guess i love my last 2 sessions e best.. coz i gt to interact more wif XX n XX i dunno lei.. they reali gt a cute side of their own,, and i reali feel that XX had improved alot.. during e performance.. he reali gt shake e shakers wif pride.. and he followed e actions for I'm special song lor.. XX too.. did his part thou he was rather disappointed tat his mum was late n nvr come in....
volunteers of coz.. improved too.. hee.. all v pro..juz too bad that we dun have enuff kids to pair wif e volunteers...

"Ya I think this sem's sessions have been most satisfying coz this is by far the most difficult
batch of kids i've seen in my 2years in Yishun, XX, XX, XX, XX ,XX just to name a few....... I will remember them for a long long time haha. The joy derived from seeing the improvements in these kids over the 8 sessions just warms me and makes me feel like becoming a dad immediately (paternal instincts kicking in oops haha).

I think today's session can be described as lively coz i think many of the kids are already emotionally attached to Yishun so they want to express it by being more active+their parents are here so can't really say today is chaotic lah.

To the current committee, esp KL and CW. I think u all did a great job over the past yr. Feel that the KL/CW ying yang combi is like a match made in heaven(oops sorry SM) and very well aided by the committee so kudos to u guys.

Can't say i really know each and every one of you well,esp the Yr 1s(paiseh...), but i know that yishun has a very bright future
with you ppl around. So here's wishing all the best to the future committee and volunteers. Hope next sem we can get newbies who can keep this fire buring bright then it's steady pom pee pee liao.

Even makes me feel a bit paiseh that i not very enthu abt yishun in the past haha.

To the Real Estate girls( sorry i dunno all your names yet paiseh), sorry for not giving u the ice-cream today. Supposed to give then dunno why tok tok tok then forget liao. Sigh can't blame lah i getting old. But glad u all got your ice-cream in the end=) Ya think you girls are darn good with the kids. Was really marvelling at what u all could do with the kids earlier in the semester.

And i think Wenchang and HongXian deserve special mention for coming down today coz they already in 4th yr so work very bz
but they still took time off from studies to join in the consolidation party.

And to Yuanjuan who has been our pillar of support for so many years. It's coz of u that Wonderkids has been such a great experience.

Also to my CCK kakis Lindy and Ruijuan, i'm lucky that this sem i never had to travel home alone from Yishun coz it seems that if one never come the other will haha. otherwise the journey home would have been a long, lonely one......

erm.. when friends ask me wat i do there.. i feel that no matter how i explain they can nvr understand e amt of pleasure n satisfaction we derived fm it..
